Tiger

Tiger tiger fast disappearing
As a big cat
you were so endearing
But sadly a sickness
and a malaise
Overtook
the human phase

They seemed to feel
a tonic made
From your sweet bones
A stock in trade
Could when boiled up
Or placed in wine
Could actually be
a kind of sign

That helped them back
to health again
Despite your agony
And your pain
They could be rejuvenated
Their libido recreated

As for you the tiger boy
Your bones your eyes
They could employ
Kill you off for their own sake
Even profit from tiger cake

This today is tiger day
Another human trait a way
Of remembering an iconic soul
With facebook likes
And yet more control
