“frostie”

In 1832 some bloke called Wagler
saw one of my ancestors Flying high
He was taken by its purest splendour so magickal
And Mythical, and why
Because it was a nymph
Not plain nor simple
The feathered fey and other worldly sprites
He became enchanted by its colours
And how it sparkled on the darkest nights

Moving on some centuries one Aunty Ro
Adopted me
and took me to her place
She has a puppy he barks and barks
and if he thinks that I
Wont notice
eats my baked potato
He just wishes he could fly!
He eats my spud my murphy
Devilment thats him
It does make me feel grumpy
He just does it on a whim
Bill her bloke and Aunty Ro
Adopted me perhaps you know
Lovely couple salt of the earth
And really both of them are worth

Their weight in gold they mean so much
I was rescued saved as such
She took me in she gave me meals
So ofcourse I know how real love feels
aunty Ro is so nice to me
She loves Us all so much
Fights and cares for kangaroo’s
And she’s always in touch
With lots of the kings and parrots
That frequent her abode
She is one of those special humans
We all need a cart load

Really lovely people
That actually do care
You want just to be near them
Their special lives to share
It just makes you feel joyful
To be alive each day
Theres nobody else like Aunty Ro
Thats what the animals say

Some say that I am a quarrion
Or a weiro if that is so
All these names for just old me
Endemic did you know
To australia the island continent
Where we
Live with kangaroo’s and koala
All of us who be

Up the eucalyptus
So many wild souls here
And she calls me “frostie”
Means cold or so I hear
Crisp and grey and yellow
I suppose thats me
The erectile crest upon my head
Tell me can you see?

Its to do with my emotions
And, my temperament
When i am happy or feel sad
It goes up and down
Content
With mind games and with joyfulness
Its funny in a way
I’m not sure if aunty Ro does know
I never heard her say

I chase their dog i love that
Being in her place
Morning noon or late at night
She has a happy face
Never any shouting
A nature lover she
I love being with aunty ro
As all of you can see.

The wilds ofcourse are out there
But no one can compare
With Aunty Ro
She’s an angel
And that she chooses to share
Her worldly goods with such as me
A bird ofcourse I stay
Willingly and happily
Loving every day!
