Complacency is creeping into motorists

More animals are dying suffering and crying
The angst of being clipped Now dangerously
Reaching higher numbers than there should be
The animals though do have the right of way
Some wear reflective collars but ponies
Often graze
Beside the roads they are out there everyday

Driving with your foot down
On your headlights
Is arrogance and ignorance as well
Too many lovely animals are being
Driven into
This is a place of beauty not of hell
And motorists have got to be more careful
Care show empathy for all wild souls
Do not exceed the 40 mph limit
That is why they instigate controls

Ponies and deers when killed
All feel traumatic
It hurts the other animals and so
Please slow down on a minor road
Remember, your highway code
And for goodness sake expect
Something to show

If you are speeding it will be a fatality
Maybe yours if you bounce off a tree
On unfenced minor roads no more than 40 miles per hour
