Unconventional invasions by a child

Unconventional invasions
Are coming to our shores
To our parklands to our spots of beauty
The outlaws
Are bringing great big noisy drills
Tankers full of slime
Stealing huge great baths of water
Turning our air to grime

I call it diabiolical
Destruction at its core
Fracturing the marcellus shale
It reminds me of a war
It turns the lovely countryside
We have grown up with to hell
Noise and dust that will disgust
And ofcourse the sulphur smell

Trucks and tankers plying
Every single day
Our water being ruined
In every single way
Our air containing methane
Our water really poor
The noise is awfully scary
And its becoming more

Like a web of machinery
Flares around the place
Its beyond comprehension
It is a disgrace
Its total devastation
Pipes now everywhere
Spillages in our villages
It really isnt fair

Fracking going into the earth
So far down then two
miles this way
and That way
What are they trying to do
Breach our natural aquifer
Turn our water brown
Frighten all our chickens
And make it harder to reach town

They have cut down all the pretty trees
And torn up all the flowers
Our countryside is looking sick
And now for hours and hours
The tankers are now driving
And the noise is really loud
An unrecognisable landscape
Which doesnt make us proud

Mum looks pale and says she’s weak
And we all get nose bleeds now
We also have skin rashes
Really we dont know how
All this has to happen right outside our door
I dont want to live here
No not anymore
