In January a baby
Was found a mystery
As to why the herd had left him
Such a tragedy
Covered in dry mud and weak
He had been seen by air
And he was flown to Nairobi
On a drip for instant care
Elephants are social animals
Clearly orphans will
Go down hill and rapidly
Its like a bitter pill
They need the love and companionship
Without it they are lost
And his little soul was pining
And suffering that cost
They named him Musiara
From the marsh area where
The masa mara region
He likened to a prayer
Having the sum and substance
Displaying a spirit for
An enduring nature
For many to adore
Emotional support was key
Carers on his case
Being fed and watered
Each physical embrace
Building up his confidence
Making him feel whole
Helping him to develop
Into a precious soul
This love has to be constant
Substantial everyday
It so easy to go down hill
For negatives do weigh
Heavy on the shoulders
Of victims of abuse
When orphans lose their mothers
Its hard to introduce
Another who will show them
That love is all around
They are not alone
Counselling will be found
Attributed to Nature
Who kind of holds the key
To turn what was instinctive
Into what now can be
Clearly weak and suffering
With a mood and spirit for
Living and for giving
Deep down in his core
Clearly his disposition
To be confident and strong
And able with some lasting love
To assist him all along
Clearly this little fellow
Has realised his worth
He feels the love and caring
As he makes his way on earth
He has his crucial moments
When the wavering of fear
May cross his path and thus the wrath
Comes back to appear
Touching and regarding
His place his constancy
He picks up on the negative
A wild born son so free
Experiencing a world of difference
Of Contrariety
But on the other hand
With a feeling that he can be
Part of the new family
An equivalence of pace
Other ele’s around about
With parity and grace
Dust baths and hydration
Play and sincerity
Feeling part of something
Of creativity
The Maasai the ancestral heart
A powerful positive name
Something to live up to
To affirm and to be game
To adjust to his new home of homes
To restore his faith and be
In union with the others
And maintain the chemistry
Part of the unbroken order
Of continuity
He is really feeling dapper
His life is orderly
It is now his unveiling
His genesis can be
From an embryo to a mammoth
In the time it takes to see
