The wolves

Realness actuality
Attested and how it should be
Flesh and blood the wolves are there
Sucking in the fresh cold air
Romping through the tall high grass
These animals seem to outclass
So much substance in their gait
Physical and yet sedate

Related to each other they
Connected in that honest way
Their kinship their affinity
Just watching them well you can see
The relevance the actual thread
Such predators how they seem led
A tribalism from their soul
A complete family in control

A genuineness the real thing
They look the same and so they bring
An honest picture to the scene
This wondrous pack amongst the green
A peacefulness creatively
Inventive originality
Champions in every way
Working through the given day

A shot is heard a scattering
A confrontation a battering
A world of difference in a trice
Hunters hiding roll the dice
The bickering wrangling dissonance
Nothing ever done by chance
Hostile and antagonistic
Really it is so sadistic

The wholeness the integrity
Really becomes fragmentary
Disharmony is what we see
Unhinged a force that shouldn’t be
The influence the ancestry
The pack in turmoil for a while
Finding it hard to reconcile

Such a loss the apex male
Gunned down on a vital trail
By some vandal with a gun
Who doesn’t know what he has done
An executioner his sin
His destructiveness he didn’t win
Any hearts, his severity
His heavy hand so violently

Lacked vision clearly hunters they
Are unthinking of the light of day
Its indistinct what they can see
And how they think it seems to me
No imagination no acuity
An unawareness blinkered they be
Myopic and confused alas
Crawling through their own morass
