Feathered apes or the Corvidea

The cognitive powers and abilities
That the crow family display
Brain size yes comparatively
Really they are way
More intelligent than most souls
They really truly are
Facial recognition and their language
It is far
Ahead of even elephants and chimps
That can use tools,
The crow is so intelligent
Really this soul rules

At stonehenge on the trilihons
And the lintels you will see
Them peering down upon us
These are wild and free
And they are remembering the kind
And the more unusual face
And this they will remember
All over the place

The family give the time to learn
And to teach the youngsters who
Learn everything there is to know
If its danger then they do
Learn and pass the messages on
So every bird does know
They are cleverer than chimpanzees
And all the time they grow

More and more intelligent
Able to puzzle more
And they know what other birds are thinking
The social learning score
Is high among the corvidea
Social creatures they
Have really agile thinking
That does blow me away

Hunters like to shoot them
But the hunters must agree
They will pass the danger on
And fly more constantly
Higher so the shot won’t hit them
This is what they do
Only one gets killed or injured
This is really true

With the evolutionary advantage
They can adapt to change
Their thoughts are unbelievable
And so is their range
They mate for life
Thats right one wife
And learning is their thing
And all of this is happening
Actually on the wing

They make tools and they use them
Food cashing is their thing
And if they think they are being observed
Will pretend to cash and bring
The food to another hiding place
Or keep it in their crop
This is agile thinking
And they do this on the hop

They are opportunistic
And invasive and they learn
To adapt somewhat like we do
Which for farmers does concern
Them and science sees them
As amazingly intelligent souls
And is now calling them feathered apes
Who put in place controls

They are story tellers
They communicate their news
They are watching and remembering
And clearly forming views
On how they can better their lives
And are managing so to do
And science is accepting
That their ways are surely true.
