RUBY

A kind of dedication
That one may never see
Because of her inbuilt dedication
Which She hides so expertly
A kind of fearsome countenance
But a warm and tender soul
Who doesn’t take fools kindly
With an abrupt control

All the way from Zimbabwe
A landlocked nation where
Britain shared its glory
As Rhodesia, aware
No doubt of the true nature
Of the Africans true heart
Infact she stands for Africa
And Ruby does impart

SHe loveS her salty karpenta
And the caterpillas too
The house of stone as we have known
The stones of the Shona do
Bring a special meaning
A heritage by name
Bespecteled and sophisticated
And always more than game

Trained in the UK she took her stalwart drIve to be
The best at every test she has
She shows it constantly
A wry smile on those sun drenched lips
And a name that holds the light
Head and shoulders above the rest
She carries on her fight

In a completely different world
In STOKE Mandeville today
With all the nationalities
She is clearly holding sway
Many here respct her
And she’s worthy of the praise
With me its a hate love relationship
For me a learning phase
