Chartreuse

From a forest in France
Chartreuse can be seen
A greenness and verdancy
She is the queen
Of the Fae so they say
A lady most fair
The most profound of spirits
That ever was there

One midsummers morning
The green goddess she
Was part of a what is known as an alchemy
She lived in a convent
Down by a stream
Spinning the dandelion flowers
It would seem
Into a fabric of sunlight and gold
Which the king of the fae
Had apparently sold

There was never more finer a cloth to be sewn
She the keeper of light
And all she did own
Was weaved into the fabric
The magic was there
The dandelion clock told the time
And aware

Of the message, she went to the forest that day
A vision of beauty in every way
Tippy toed over a sparkling stream
And Fell head down a well all that way
It would seem

And at the bottom a little green fawn
An angel in fact who wasn’t long born
She exclaimed to the goddess why she was there
And how how she just flew up into the air
The goddess replied the reason my dear
Is you are a fae fawn and it seems clear
And I am your queen then its good you are here
For it must be meant kiss me now let us see
If you are the lost prince that i have to free

She knelt down and held him and planted a kiss
A great flash of light not something you’d miss
And the fawn was transformed into a tall man
With eyes like the lime leaves she last saw on Pan
What is your name sir pray tell me your name
And who was the sorceror who played a game
Who cast that spell deciding that you
Should be a green fawn down a well filled with dew

I know not dear queen but i am glad you were there
For a fawn can be hunted to a life of despair
A number came by so I decided that I
Would jump into this well just wondering why
Or who would come down to me and it was you
The queen of the fae herself knowing what to do
Come with me now lets fly said the queen to the sky
Hold on tight we shall both be as green as can be
As we fly in the sky perhaps alchemy
Will be our spirit the great green charteuse
For its only in Marseiiles this magic occurs
