Yellowstone Mother beaver saves her children and moves to a new lodge

The drama from the natural world
Transcending all of time
The lodge due to its shallowness
The odds were beginning to climb
SNake River it was drying up
And the pond that she had made
With melt water gone rapidly
All the work she had laid

Down was rapidly wasted by the heat
Of the hot sun
Despite the lodge being unique
When the day was done
With 3 children to look after
A mother has to be
Many steps ahead of disaster
She will see

She was a super mother
And uppermost in her mind
Was if the pond got shallower
That predators would find
Her babies and would eat them
And so she had to see
A way of getting out of this
And some how be free

Above on higher cliffs of course
Were hungry eagles they
Observant of the predicament
And ready to pounce and play
A rude part in their end game
So the drama of the piece
Was their mother had to
Choose a time and gain their safe release

In her mind she had constructed
5 dams and 5 pools
Each one had a crossing
She heard the eagles calls
But in the water they were safe
Out if it they were gone
And so made her break for it
All three were now upon

Her person and she struggled swimming
Off at speed
She climed over three dam sticks
And up a tributary
And back into deep water
Over rocks and through a stream
And finally got to the safe place
She had relocated it would seem

Aware that eyes were on her
She struggled with her breath
Faster going faster
Aware those eyes meant death
She must have lost her heartbeats
When she got to that pool
And dived deep with her children
Safe and sound and all

Settled she then proceeded
To create a place to be
What mothers do for their children
Such valour all could see
All the finishing touches
She rapidly applied
And all the family once again
Were happiily inside
