Yellowstone- adapt my son

The plight alas of the grizzly bears
Who are also struggling too
Hibernation time is coming
The bellies of a few
Are heaving,
with food slowly digesting
Over time
but the pine nuts
That the grizzlies relish
The pine beetles
Turn to wine

These trees
300 years of growth
Since winter took a dive
The frosts were not as blatant
So more beetles did survive
Chomping through
those poor hard working trees
The white bark pine
And many of them have given up the ghost
And been forced to sign

Out of this incarnation
Leaving the grizzlies to
Grizzle over the lack of nuts
And adopt An alternative view

In the heat of day
to fill their guts
With berries of the field
Go where men work ranches
hopeful of a yield

Of berries and of juicy roots
To supplement their fair
So they are having to work
Much harder and are energy aware

In the hot sun it is gruelling
They have to labour more
To adapt with all these changes
Makes them grizzlier for sure
