We know Dolphins leap
They frolic and play
They tail slap and belly flop
Surf dive and sway
Jump through the hoops
Not much they cant do
Skittish and frisky
They plunge in the blue
But cornered in pens
In Japan’s Taiji
They stay within floats
When they could get free
We know their emotions
And feelings create
A mental and spiritual makeup
A state
Of caring and sharing and being
All seeing
A predisposition to rate
But as soon as the banging boats
Trap them and drive
Their actual reality
Then to survive
Apparently fails them and they
Just wait it out
And more of them perish
What is that about?
Is it just leathargy
A delayed reaction
A sort of stupor
Theres no satisfaction
Waiting around
To be pithed in the sound
To be hopelessly slaughtered
And some even drowned
Is it fear or dismay
Cant they see
What is happening
Out in the bay
Or is it just shock
At the death of their friends
Is that the problem
That actually sends
Them into what is a delerium state
And They all just give up
Accepting their fate.
