Carrion flies were convinced already
The little mut was gone.
lying under the wheels she was
Out on the road upon
In all sorts of shock and awe
Breathing not like she should
Wrapped up in a blanket
By an angel for the good
Blue jeans and brown sandals
Animal aid arrived
Took her to the hospital
Where yes she survived

Nobody had loved her
she was left to be
A victim in this crazy world
That nobody could see
To touch or even wonder
How she got to be
Lying covered in carrion flies
In pure agony
Two months passed
And love was
Given with so much care
And, she just got better
By casting off despair

It happens really anywhere
True love is given reign
Too many lonely hearts are broken
In woeful refrain
This bitch was given sanctity
And love and she did feel
Like entering a wondrous place
That turned out to be real

Thank you animal aid
And the angel who saved her
Carrion flies and all
This poem is in your honour
