The sickness of watching Dolphins swim in the desert

IfnArizona had been supposed to have
Dolphins creation would
Have put them all in small pools
Which would have been for their good
But all we see is lizards and snakes
Around the place
Nor Dolphins it just makes no sense
And in fact is a disgrace

For so called entrepreneurs to arrogantly
Display
Dolphins from the watery realms
Along the sandy way
The heat the sand
The mosquitos
Clearly not a Dolphins place
But man is never sensitive
To the creatures actual space

And so it’s borne of arrogance
And insubstantiality
Really it is meaningless
The desert is no place to be
In a pool a dolphin needs the ocean
To be free
Not in very hot place
Like the desert actually

It’s selfish and it’s very cruel
To bathe under the sun
Depth is what is needed
When the day is done
It’s hellishly uncomfortable
For a dolphin in a pool
So far away from the ocean
Enclosed in a blue wall

It’s artificiality
A lifeless environment
Fed on dead fish every day
Who would be content
With such a sterile bathtub
A chlorinated stew
It’s really all half measures
And that isn’t what you do

With cetaceans that need water
They need a life force and to say
Is good enough to put them in dead tank
And expect them to stay
Nothing there to stimulate
Their senses therefore why
Prisoners in disarray
Would prefer to die

Dolphins live in pods you see
Their mother by their side
A lone dolphin from another family
Although it’s been denied
Will not be able to communicate
And already that is bad
And they do have memories
And will be very sad

Whoever had this bright idea
Has clearly lost his way
Dolphins in the desert
Being made to pay
Their way by doing silly trucks
Under a desert sun
And will no doubt get bitten
By mosquitos it’s not fun

A dolphin may swim 50 miles a day
Or even more
And dive down catching fishes
Their lives they do adore
Playing in the shadows
Inquisitive they be
Always learning always yearning
Just to be so free

In the waves they play all day
Follow boats and enjoy the spray
Communicate and learn to be
Leaping diving constantly
But in a pool no where to go
No one to speak to
And no flow
No living souls no plants
Nothing
Just repetition that does bring

Any creature big or small
Into boredom one and all
Unsustainable you can say
Inclined to weaken by the day
Lacking vigour sluggishness
A sort of turmoil builds and stress
Will influence their heart and mind
And be Prejudiced to human kind

Arizona is no place
For any sea life
We must face
The predicament
Of this arrogance
That will influence
The circumstance
