I had lost the will to live
For love had lost its way with me
Nobody appeared to care
Though I was earnestly
Prepared to go on with my life
But weaker by the day
Finally collapsing in the street
And there I did lay
Flies were soon all over me
Of course I was aware
But there no one in my life
Nobody did care
What was the use of fighting
Nobody would know
If I died tomorroW
Nobody would show
And so I laid down peacefully
The world could go on by
I was feeling terrible
With big tears in each eye
With pain and difficulty breathing
The dirty polluted air
I just felt best lay here
Because no one did care
In the heat I just felt awful
And knew death was close by
Coming with his sickle
To scoop me up and why
Nobody did love me
No not any more
Nobody cared two hoots
And I was very sore
Then a man came with a blanket
His soft warm hands I felt
I felt his breath draw closer
Actually he knelt
Down and really comforted me
Picked me up and I
Was soon inside his ambulance
But didn’t understand why
I was taken to a compound
Where angels dressed in white
Had great big wings all flapping
Angels of the night
Smiles and soft hands
Caring souls
IV fluids gave
Someone clearly loved me
Which made me just feel brave
Enough to open up my eyes
To look up at them and
Realise that life was coming back to me
And grand
As it was, it was worth a fight
And fight I did till now
I can walk and I can feel
And really you all know how
For love is very important
In any dear souls life
To love and be loved and to care
And share
Through all the strife
These angels they were beautiful
And now just look at me
I am walking I am running
I am really so happy
My story was worth telling
For there are angels everywhere
So when you feel like giving up
And entering despair
Look around for someone
To love and tell them you
Love them now with all your heart
As I most certainly do
little Oliver came close to losing everything
But luckily found love on the street and lives to tell his tale
