Lily dale turkeys

Sofina foods in Canada
Lily dale turkey where
Hundreds of bloody great turkeys
End up in some despair
Ripped out of trucks and shackled upside down they go
Through the electrified water
But many never know
And they are not unconscious
When the blade that cuts their throat
Engages with their face or head
They kind of miss the boat

And it really must be agony
To have ones face carved through
Eyes pop then they are boiled to death
For that is what they do

It is never normal slaughter
It’s terrifying there
It’s awkward and a handful of
The workers unaware
It’s absolutely torture
Blood goes everywhere
It’s formidable and arduous
For few around there care

There isn’t any love loss
It’s cat and dog all day
The workers appear factious
There doesn’t seem a way
That turkeys could be Cared for
Not in this ruddy hole
At LILYDALE they always fail
Every single soul

The system seems calamitous
Ruinous one might say
There are so many victims
Bleeding out who may
Each feel all that agony
All that wretched pain
Unblest and inglorious
It’s doom and gloom again

It’s rigid and it’s stringent
Such inflexibility
And of course so many victims
As such adversity
Is raining down on all of them
It’s a rigorous regime
Everybody’s suffering
Even the butchery team

Millions die each Christmas
Sacrificed so we
Can stuff the sage and onion
Up their arse for free
Perhaps a little sausage meat
And some rough salt on their breast
So the skin becomes like sandpaper
And well you know the rest
