Apes are sociable animals
They live in the trees all day
exercise is what they do
That happens to be their way
Being forced to remain in
Cages or pens appear
To really put the wind up them
And it’s all down to fear
Food is simply thrown at them
Their hunting skills are nil
These are real wild animals
With all that instinctive skill
And now they are just victims
Left inside a pen
To really feel the sadness
Emanating from all men
Sitting about or walking about
Back and forwards they
Get undermined by the boredom
Nothing to do all day
And bloody pervert keepers
Who have just no idea
How to help them train their minds
We can all now see how clear
It is for this poor Baboon on film
Its walking too and fro
At such a speed with no idea
Where he wants to go
He is going bonkers doing this everyday
This is not a life it is gradual decay
Zoo’s are guilty of this
Corporates don’t care
It’s only about money and profit
It’s not fair
They drive these animals crazy
The monotony of life
In a bloody pen of iniquity
And what is only strife
And those of us supporting them
These ventures we call zoos
Are creating monkey lunatics
Who rapidly refuse
To live a normal life in fact
To ruin them every day
Depression and frustration
It just blows me away
How we don’t even see this
We let this cruelty go
We bloody pay to see them
As if they are on show
Watch them gradually losing it
Living with our pain
All zoos should be closed down
For animals never gain
Anything from being there
And we can see this now
Often kept in dirty conditions
Surely we know how
It must feel to be caged up
In a dirty filthy pen
Where there is no fulfilment
And all you see is men
To drive the poor souls crazy
They live you see in fear
