Another look at Circus

HOw was it we were ever
Taken in by circus
Wild animals in trailers
Transported town to town
Made to climb up steps in rings
And when they fall perhaps
That brings
Circus into disrepute
As well it should
For at the root
Is psychopathy
It’s everywhere
The animals get the real despair
When I saw that Elephant topple
And was helpless I could see
It could have killed just anyone
The audience At ringside
Anyone lots of children there
It really was a madness
And I do think so unfair

We must take on our responsibility
And clearly ban
Wild animals in circus
It has to be the plan
Elephants should never ever
Be forced to do these tricks
On all fours and so heavy
only fortune really saved the day
For the elephant knocked for six
The protection and the first row
That had to be the case
Falling there was nothing he could do
To save his face

IN Britain three mp’s
Are stalling and the sanity
Continues to be criticised
Unremittingly
Circus isn’t any place for animals at all
Even human beings find the story
Just to tall
The need is just not there now
And therefore we must say
Wild animals in circus
Must end now from today
