Audacity

Sancturies or so they are called
Some are though we must not be fooled
We must do our homework and investigate
For some we would in fact berate
Their philosophy is far from right
With indiscretions that begin to bite
The hand that offers manna and
Brinkmanship throughout the land

Such foolhardiness and recklessness
Bound to be hard to redress
Moving wild dogs into a place
Frequented by lions what a disgrace
With electric fences all around
As soon they reached the rotten pound
The Lions went hunting them and we
Could see them running desperately

Hitting the fences one by one
What had this sanctuary owner done
Moved the dogs away so he
Could feed his Lions so tragically
Apathetic clearly unstirred
Impervious to the spoken word
A callous attempted getting rid
Of the African painted dogs who bid
To escape their fear was all the more
Frightful that he had planned this
War

Their mortal flight all so afraid
Several escaped but it had weighed
Heavily on the others who
Were cut down running which was true
The lions were starving which is why
The wild dogs really had to fly
Walter Slippers. YES
we know
And the lions of course from IGOGO
M99 was administered by other than veterinarians
Why
Because it was cheaper apparently to
Do it and that’s what they do

The African Lion faces utter despair
Filling in for the Tiger for now he does share
The CTM market place it would appear
Bone wine and bone pills and obvious fear
Canned hunting happened and when margins are squeezed
Comfortless projects surface and its eased
The corporate standing creating a place
For lucrative dealings and no loss of face

Starving the Lions is what the Chinese do
Some 8000 souls languish now in the zoo
For CTM most clueless too
And South African stocks are also high
Which in a nutshell is why many die
Canned hunting and trophies and bones
ShippeD away
Some for the tiger cake which really does pay
Some for the pills and somefor the wine
They couldn’t care less how far off the line

They go and these sanctuaries really they must
Be closed Down they really have to go bust
They are not what they say they are
And what we see
Are starving Lions and so much cruelty
And a market that’s waiting across the sea
To bump up the profits accordingly
With polluted mindsets and some scarcity
The great lions of Africa their cruelty
As for the African painted dogs they
Also are suffering and made to pay
The ingloriousness and ignominy here
Increases the margin and heightens the
Fear

Lay people really must stay wide awake
To appreciate those who want more of the cake
The fakes they are everywhere knocking it back
The low life are out there dodging the flack
Showing a loathing for wild souls and more
Denouncing their value by breaking the law
By forgetting the souls that gave them their all
By being unpitying that does appal
And by actually breaking every rule

SOuth Africa suffers such karmic debt
It sits on the sidelines covered in sweat
It’s iconic Lions suffering so
It’s wonderful wild dogs wanting to show
Their prowess their truth for nobody sees
All the great wonders that so often please
We need to go backwards and realise we
Have a glorious country with animals free
To live in the great parks their life we must share
And stop all this killing for its never been fair
