its a baby
as quiescent as could be
it just wants to lie down and rest
as anyone can see
the bullring
and the audience
the matadors now try
wanting it to fight them
but it doesn’t want to die
why should it its a baby
as innocent as hell
it could teach these so called men
so much I have heard tell
fighting souls for money
or being crippled by
the horns of some young dying bull
forced to kneel and cry
pull its tail and rip its horns
make it stand and fight
this is never culture
and this just cannot be right
its ignorance and naivete
no scholar worth his thought
would ever remain unconscious
or imagine he was caught
up in this vile tradition
of what is absurdity
senselessness and a vagary
its not buffoonery
its evil and its so grotesque
to punish as we see
a baby
a little baby
with what is insanity
