Temples and tigers and buddhists and money

Temples and Tigers and buddhists and money
The homogenisation is a cocktail of pain
It can stem from the needs to enhance the ego
But breaking the Third Precept clearly no gain
To derive a pleasure from sentient beings
Is not the done thing though of course we all know
There are many stories of wild animals responding
To some human kindness and love which does grow
Thailand and Laos and Myanmar are
Neighbouring countries with a doctrinal core
Thus Theravada expresses their teachings
Of The Pali canon of its cultures and more
Alongside the teachings comes a different culture
Borders and great roads to riches galore
What became the Temple of Tigers in Thailand
Happened apparently in 1994

A forest sanctuary for some wild tigers
Its kind of all secret bound on certain traits
An ignorant mass to an arrogant leadership
What could be happening inside those gates
Little or no policing apparently
So many tigers and cubs brought to bear
In just twenty years the temple was able
To register trade routes the tigers to share

Absoluteness and potentiality
Poaching and money inherent out there
Nirvana and prana and being aware
Put into perspective
The teachings are clear
A lucrative market of mayhem and more
In fact breaking the precepts and teachings
Exchanging the principles of blood and gore

The offerings made to be taken and honoured
All that was heart felt they could ignore
Not educate people to offer the truest
Of food not at all for to share in the core
Of ones being the whole damned religion was party
To corruption and terror and involvement and more
It is easy to see how the weak can be led
By the arrogant leaders who clearly were sure

Hoodwinking the volunteers brought into help them
Similarly the tourist trade too
Walking with Tigers sitting on Tigers
Drugged up and toothless sadly that was true
Traditional medicine and the black market
In body parts teeth skin and penises too
Contracts with Laos tiger cubs frozen
Within the compass what did they do

Animal rights had been saying for years
Something is happening and needs to be
Its been under the guise of the great Buddhist shadow
Muddle and chaos and disharmony
Now they have found jars of Tiger Cub remains
And frozen cubs too
Clearly the temple was up to no good
All the worst intentions all through

The Tigers have gone the swoop it came quickly
Where was the abbot seemingly gone
Where were their consciences the racketeering
Clearly unscrupulousness it was upon
Unethical dealings a den of villainy
Misdeeds and misdoing graceless and unclean
Anarchic and ungovernable the so called spirit
Their day of reckoning it has to have been
Based on unrighteousness and degeneration
Corruption depravity all rolled in one
Shamelessness where was the innocence truthfully
Lots of lost souls when the day was done
