A window of a mind

The Gade meanders generously passed
Land of autumn sward well green
Tussocks dense and gazing skywards
Whitened with a frosty sheen
Beyond the curling bushes friendly
Stands a mass a wooded clime
Powder puffs of pink and orange
Eagerly now passing time

A bridle path extends its welcome
Over to the bridge where sighs
Where thoughts of lovers casting shadows
More so than we realise
The outwardness and the projection
A chain of reasoning follows course
A tractor moves along a byway
Creating patterning at source

The sky a chasm so demanding
A diagnostic of the mind
Ever changing with such brightness
Helping one to now unwind
The whiteness of the sun creating
Light thats blinding forcing me
To look away to seek some darkness
For what is really truthfully

A fullness of immense proportions
An intensity of far reaching light
An Overwhelming sense of justice
Compensating all in sight
The sublimity of light on grasslands
Championing the subtle shade
Picking out the purple pigments
That with cloud cover now may fade

The telegraph long lines of messaging
Unseen unheard but all there
Brinkmanship and understanding
Hang together in the air
Spiny hedgerows tossed and twisted
Have resisted many a soul
Who wrestled with the thought of pushing
Into and through as perhaps a goal

The thud of a 12 bore in the distance
Propelled across the field to where
Something moved in a copse of holly
And possibly faced instant despair
Already there is massive cover
A cloak of slate grey now hangs fast
The colours changing with every moment
The natural die of life is cast

And all of this is for the seeing
An open eye a past dream state
Discovering a new beginning
A sequel perhaps to our fate
Backwards forwards dusts are rising
From the tractor’s too and fro
Straight lines lifted and projected
Setting up the place to grow

All of this is from a window on the world
Beyond the mind
The oneness and the solitude
The solidarity underlined
The changeableness its fair and fleeting
Immortality of an age
A birds eye view of every moment
An integral part of every page
