We buried Bears mother
Lily today
With a basket of her goodies
Held sway
Her owl cushion, food
Things she liked and did share
We dug into the sod
And just laid her there
An Apple Tree guards her
In her minty space
Hopefully warms her
With Jack Frosts cool grace
To the Summerlands
She will move slowly tonight
In her idyll of love
Through a trail of moon light
With the incense and rosemary
Protecting her she
will leave this her realm
And be gone and be free
To walk with the angels
To breathe the sweet air
To just hear the silence
Now everywhere
Her Earth Mother grieves
And her son’s eyes are wet
The sadness is evident
The elegy let
Those of us missing Dear Lily
aware
Of her joyful encounters
And really how rare
She was a spirit she is
For we knew
Her time had arrived
Her charm was all through
So much affection
And so much grace
In death once more
Darling we peered at your face
Your calming repose
Your prism of peace
We hope and we know
You have found some release
With your courage undaunted
You doggedly ran
Unflinching and determined
To follow the plan
Your desire to go forward
To the great fields of green
Where the sun shines forever
And the leaves take a sheen
And everywhere really
Sparkles and shows
The light and the gracefulness
Under our nose
Your body will lie
Where you found your place
Where you sat where the mints
Threw their scent in our face
Shaded yet sunny and there you will be
Watching us still
Our dear daughter lily x
