Vernal Equinox at Roll Rights

Positiveness the bedrock
Of the Cotswold Order, We
Met today our ritual shared
At Roll Rights we could be

Open in the present
With blue skies flooding through
Silhouetted trees around us
And all those stones that drew

Our every thought the ancients
The ancestors from before
Who also would have walked these stones
Whose eyes could adore

What we could see, what we could feel
A ritual into Spring
The daffodils their golden trumpets
Helping us to sing

The snowdrops little bunches
And the sunlight on the grass
The mole hills all that action
Architects first class

They join in our circle
Underneath our feet
They can feel the energy
It is! Its hard to beat

Its visible you are drawn in
You are part of it all
Children dogs from everywhere
Thats love each hears a call

And comes you heard the speaking stick
I just turned up here”
Did you or was it in our psyche
Something we hold dear

Spring is sprung
Equal day and night today
The equinox
Something it has meaning
You got it folks it rocks!

All that spiritual wonderment
All that historical worth
Natural physical moments
And so close to the earth

The portals they were opened
Stirring stuff you feel
You get it in your marrow
Druidry is real

A play about the dark and light
A fight yea to the death
A play a kind of story
We remember every breath

The children they were part of it
The dogs part of it too
And every single one who came
Who were part you let it do

Something to you in that circle
You felt different there
Warmer part of something good
Something we all share

And then the mead and fruit was blessed
And the bard he did his thing
In and out of his blooming chair
But again something did bring

The poem of the vernal time
The equinox and we
Listened to the speaking stick
The prayer and the Ho
You see

A Sunday at the roll rights
The arch druid clad in green
The cameras were rolling too
Are we all glad we have been

Out there in the spring air
Part of the great whole
A circle to remember
Where you all played a role
