The joy of 4 wild wolves

Wildness doesn’t preclude love
And affection far from it
Rescuing 4 wolf cubs
This girl did clearly pit
Her love and her compassion
For four wild boys who would
Grow up to be the wildest of the brood
Because they could

5 years later the girl went back
To see if she could find
Called their names and from the snow
They just seemed to unwind
Their mass of excitability
With their amazing nose
They remembered her so wonerfully
Which really only shows

The olfactory awareness
Their intelligence as well
Their mindset, yes wild animals
But still able to tell
And to differentiate from
From the hunting lot
Who have an evil pong
They can hide and shoot
But at the root
They know, right from wrong

Four passionate abandoning their style
Boisterousness mercurial
Emotional for a while
Jumping kissing treating her
Loving her so much
Intoxicated by her
Just wanting to touch
Kissing her she sat there
Letting them for she
Absorbed their exhilaration
Given so freely

They were effervescent
After all this time
Remember Mr Hunter
Unquiet in your mind
Exuding fear from every pore
The hunted they know and
The difference between a friend and a foe
Is the scent laid on the land

Bewitched clearly this lady
Felt blessed to have them near
Their gusto and their indulgence
Completely free of fear
Enchanted by her presence
And showing her they care
Getting a bit skittish
Making her aware

In many ways its a haunting moment
And must bring her cheer
Their vitality of spirit
In the winter here
Gleeful and exultant
Rollicking about
Inspiring her, so joyous
At really being out
