Compassion among the local people

With the latest wave of hunters
Gunning down Giraffes
And posing with their mangled bodies
Really just for laughs
Spread across the internet
Hanging on their wall
A poor dead earthling shot to death
And so lost to us all

80,000 left today
From 140,000 when
Not so very long ago
20 years in fact may be
Thats whats happening to wildlife
To my mind which is tragically

Down and increasing as we speak
Canned hunting gives that guarantee
An iconic soul that does harm none
Seemingly now over run
by cheapskate hunters
Who cant afford
A lion or an Elephant
As their reward

For psychopathy on the grandest scale
And in Kenya the other day
A baby Giraffe got stranded
In a river so they say

The Uaso Nyiro river
With its own great vigour swept
A baby giraffe it swallowed up
It just was not adept
Enough to fight the torrent and
Was stranded there until
a band
Of indigenous people came to its aid
And saved the youngster
They had laid
Their hearts and hands
And lives as well
To pull this baby out of hell

Their story for it needs to be
Realised incessantly
Lets not forget each creature
Needs
Its life as you do
And this leads

Me to say to hunters who
Buy into the guarantees
to do
The dirty on wild wild souls
Abusing them and setting goals
Threatening them as we have found
Had a hunter seen him
He would have drowned

Every soul born hereabouts
Please please offer me no doubts
Each was given their creative life
And nobody should cause them strife
No one has the right to end
The life of any earthling friend

These people risked their lives that day
Compassion and respect a way
Further down the enlightenment road
Passing the hunter whose karmic load
Weighs them down and slows their gait
Adversity comes at a quite rate
Of knots, in the furtherance of honoured time
When Hunting will be, the greatest crime
