Our discourtesy is a measured disapproval of time itself

Where the earth meets the sky
The moon falls from high
Such a vast moving plain
With so much to gain
Our simple eyes see
A mountain swims free
As grand as a creature
Ever could be

His struggle was long
His heart though so strong
He took on the might
Of the dark and the light
His sorrow he shared
In the fountain he spared
Coming closer we saw
And we then knew what for

From the beach from each place
We joined in the race
To save him to plunge in the brine
Just to be
Part of his rescue giving him hope
We all came together
To help him to cope

Touching the mountain
Feeling his all
Honouring spirit
We heard the call
We rushed like an army
Into the sea
With such adoration
For where we could be

He needed that help
To get back in the swim
He needed our love
Being close to the rim
The allegiance was there
We had the desire
To each take our stand
And join in his fire

It just was enough
The great mountain swam
And looked back at us
With an eye of I am
Such depth a profound sense of worth
We all felt
Indebted we were
As together we knelt

Part of the pain
The explosive harpoons
That are fired from the Japanese ships
By the goons
Simpleton robotic dark souls
Who do
What their sick masters tell them
And really now few

Think of the majesty
The mountainous wrath
As they enter the darkness
And follow a path
Of unmindful thought
Of ungratefulness
Remorseless and callous
And then so not confess

To the vile criminality
Played out when they
See the great crimson clouds
And hear screams that can play
They ply their great chains
Drawing into their hold
A king among beasts
Worth its great weight in gold

And we see just a rubber boat
Bobbing away
A few bright young shepherds
Caught in the spray
Hearts full of love
Angels in time
Who take on the evil
Who endeavour to climb

Out of the ocean to give thanks to all
To just try to save them
Those they would haul
The great violated ones
Bleeding to death
Ruptured and dying
And knowing their breath

Is failing is fading
So jaded so weak
They can have no fight left
The strength of the meek
Belies the great shadow
That rises and falls
As Sea Shepherd witnesses
The broken rules

The great mountains touch us
They break us today
We would give ourselves to them
If there was a way
But we are so few
Who will take on the fight
Who will prostrate ourselves
To share the great light

The truest unthankfulness
Our world creates
They appear unavenged
We enter those gates
The thrashing emotion
The blood of the soul
As the Japanese wind in
The whale whose control

Is vanquished and somehow
We feel the pain
All its long suffering
All of its strain
We feel so helpless
What can we do
To wake the world up
To what now is true

The great whales are being
Slaughtered and they
Have a chivalrous cause
But they still sadly pay
And they are all seeing
Such wonderment they
See from afar
But are lost to the day
