The red one with blue eyes

She has the bluest eyes and
The reddest plumage
Digitally mastered
So understand
But far away
In Madagascar
Apparently
There lives a rare
Red owl
That looks as grand

This owl is very small
And its nocturnal
Lives in holes in trees
Of evergreen
Habitat loss and slash and burn
Is putting it under pressure
But the one you sent me
Just now might have been

A digitally enhanced variety
On the internet this year
The blue eyes are a give away
To some its very clear
But to me i really care not
For what I see here may
Somewhere in a jungle
Be flying around today

And probably in Madagascar
In the family of barn owl
But clearly very special
With a hissing sort of howl
Lives on rats they tell me
And could be on the mend
To My lovely friend in Sweden
It was lovely you did send

Your cute picture to me

Thanks so much
Made my day x
