Bunderberg and the labour hire contractors

Human rights a classic tale
Of resentment and disregard
Of an ugly disposition
And of migrants working hard
Brought over from the far East
With a vision to provide
Their service which reality
Surely is denied

The supermarket orders
Fulfilled and out of the way
Lots of dirty secrets
On the road to Mandalay
The biggest farms and factories
Put out the labour hire
To the black market labour firms
Whose conditions remain dire

The gang masters the mini vans
The long hours and the place
Where many of these foreign slaves
Are housed in a disgrace
In fact paid a pittance and made
To work so hard
Under the conditions of strictness
Their minds and bodies scarred

Some have valid visas
others are alien stock
Condemned to possibly a crowded barn
With a bloody great padlock

Australia is guilty
By allowing this regime
To happen and not police it
To allow this contractual stream

To deepen in the society
This illegality
To become a giant problem
And one that shouldn’t be

It smacks at a corporate power base
They swoop on aliens who
Are brought over for their cheap labour
That is what they do
Entitled to earn the minimum wage
But denied that so that those
Illegal operations power base
Clearly grows

They are creaming off the salaries
With the farmers in the know
In fact lets says they are party to it
Which is why it does grow

The work is hard and laborious
And the migrants do work well
The profit margins are very high
So to create this brand of Hell

Is against the rules of human life
Its corruption through and through
Exploitation of the poor
Of course that isn’t new

But clearly it is growing
And the police must know this fact
The government have encouraged it
And they all should now react

By hitting those labour hire contractors
Shut them down for good
The farms should pay a living wage
To anyone thats good

And by passing on the buck
As many seem to do
They are part of the problem
And this has to stop too
