309 each hour

i want you to imagine
A steer so full of life
Transported to the slaughterhouse
Made ready for the knife
The last thing on this earth they want
Is to be told they must die
They love life as you love life
And no one can deny

Their life force is intense
But they are ready to be killed
Trussed up on gantry chain
Their blood has to be spilled
This is how we do it
309 per hour
Hanging on a gantry
Imagine all that power

Ramon Moreno tells us
At second legger he
When they arrive with him
Still alive they be
Blinking eyes
Making noises
They didn’t want to die
They look around
They make a sound
For him he has to sigh

Seeing them so pitiful
Clearly
still in pain
They are dying a piece at a time
Are we going insane

Why would we kill the animals
So slowly its not right
He says he remembers their faces
And sees them again at night
They come back and revisit him
Frighten him with their roar
309 killed every hour
Of that he is very sure

If you are a meat eater
Remember the steers for they
Love to live they love to be
And if they could talk would say
They do not want to die at all
Cutting their throats is pain
Why do we have to eat them
Again and again and again

Its not as if they eat us
Or ever think they should
Its not as if they feel bad towards us
In fact they never could
So why do we feel like this
Why do we make them die
Why do want to eat their steaks
Cant we hear them cry

With Most of the humans eating beef
The so called burger brigade
I Told them they have no chance
The bloody meat trade
Are full of man un kind
Who cannot ever see them cry
They are into profit
And thats why they have to die
