A very unfortunate incident took place
It seems to me
From reading through the mail’s report
And the case on line I see
That a farm that houses a lot of horses
And dogs was found to be
Not looking after them adequately
Which created this tragedy
the RSPCA were called and a case
Was brought to bear
This happened in Blackburn
All the animals there
Were neglected that was awful
But a number were thought to be ok
And handed over to be re homed
To the RSPCA
So they must have felt they had been saved
Their ordeal was over, they
Couldn’t wait to get out of there
But alas for them the stay
Was short lived it was decided
With an influx in horses they
Would have to be put down
Put down anyway
So who did they get to do this
The horse whisperer he
The healer and the reiki master
And slaughter man would be
The ideal choice
And so 12 of the 14
Were shot through
6 went off to the pony club
That just left the
2
They were saved from slaughter
New homes for the old
The other twelve were beside themselves
At the rainbow bridge I am told
Its a very sad and tragic tale
That demonstrates how we
Can set ourselves a task
But sometimes it cannot be
And for whatever reason the horses in this case
Though clearly bright and alert and responsive
Had to die a pace
And that was all about it
i just thought how they must
Have felt reprieved from the lingering death
To be shot and get the goodbye breath
Which on hearing does disgust
And there were enquiries
Apparently but they
Were hampered by data protection
And in the end all pay
This is one of those tragic tales
Of circumstantial woe
Raising their hopes and
And denying them life
That is no way to go
To be given an expectation
And watch it frittered away
Must have really got to them
Thats all that I can say
Animal earthlings really are our mentors
And in that role their position it can be
Fraught with every danger ever in the book
These horses for example happily
They wandered onto trucks bound for the stables
And one of them leg broken in some fall
Taz was going to clearly get a bullet
Sadly thats is now the general rule
There may be an enquiry so i read today
And clearly something else went wrong and they
Realised it was best by far to kill them
Than go all out to save them anyway
Its just became a physical impossibility
Too many horses and not enough places so
The inevitable it really had to happen
The horses precious lives they had to go
One Response to Saved and then killed
