Donkey

Under the hot sun
A donkey is led
Along by two loathsome men
That being said
Suddenly one hits the poor donkeys back
With a pole
Really truthfully gives it a whack
You can just feel the pain of it
That wincing pain
Brought tears to the donkey’s eyes
How it did strain
Didn’t retaliate
Took it on board
But clearly a price
That it couldn’t afford
Then picked up and thrown over his head
Harmless and playful
Already looked fed
Up with the cruelty
Which looked to be
Frightful and brutal
Too much for me

It was hard to watch this
The hurt deep inside
They should have known better
But would have denied
Pure and unspotted
Angelic too
Lacking all conscience
As to what to do

The sufferance clearly
From, deep inside
Doleful and tender
But upright with pride
Never complaining
Pitiful though
Lost in the abyss
And beginning to know

Kicked in the head
And Head butted too
Some rugby tackles
Beaten, black and blue
In such low spirits
And despondency
Heartache and sadness
And such misery

Angst for that Donkey
Such gravity
No laughing matter
Despite what we see
Two rogues desiring to torture
A soul
To beat him and hurt him
For that was his role

Its heavy stuff for a dear little chap
Solemn and serious
This was such crap
Wretched and dismal
Gloomy and subdued
Pulled by the ears
And the back legs
So crude,

Such aggravation
A bizarre affair
Contemptible mockery
They didn’t care
How much they hurt him
How much despair
They levelled out on him
And made him share

The threat and the terror
The hair raising woe
The awesome and terrible
Dance now on show
It sickens those viewers
Who demonstrate they
Can sit and watch this at the end of the day

Gentle of spirit
Soft hearted soul
Lost in these Arab Lands
Taking the role
Of whipping boy
In what is this affair
A vile demonstration
Of tell me whose there
A vile statement really
Of you best beware

Disbelieved and discredited
Open to doubt
This was just ridicule
Hearing them shout
Laughing their heads off
Really naive
Sicko’s just proving
We better believe

There are such vile cretins
And so man un kind
Practices torture
And it’s well defined
By psychopathy for clearly these two
Are heartless and brain dead
And what we must do
Is hope that some karma
Grabs them and we see
Them both beaten black and blue
And instantly
