4 million gallons of water per well
And some of it out of the tap
What a smell
It’s just like a sewer
How would you think
That this is what your family now has to
Drink
It is not the the third world
Or the outback somewhere
It is suburbia
And in the air
We now know the methane
What’s happening we
Are suffering really
Frighteningly
Hydraulic fracturing fracking for short
We are caught up in terror
Once we all thought
Fracking was energy saving and we
Were promised the earth
But what do we see
They drill under our homes
Our water supply
Is terribly smelly
Contaminants high
We give to our families
Nose bleeds and more
Our children are sickly
And what is more
the roads all around here
Are torn up and bad
Our beautiful countryside
Is a fracking pad
Our rivers and lakes
Are polluted as hell
We are governed by idiots
And that vile smell
Hangs over us daily
Our taps often run
Black greasy sludge
What have they done
Why did we agree to sign up to this
The government clearly
Were taking the piss
The fat cats the corporates
Bludgeoned their way
Through our local community
We have no say
We have no protection
We are lost in the mire
Our air water environment
Really it’s dire
Once we were happy our countryside was
Beautiful then came the frackers
Because
fracking was better than sliced bread
And we
Were told it was happening
It had to be
Now look around it’s terrible here
Earthquakes pollution
All of us fear
The vile consequences
And as for those who
Voted for fracking
Who didn’t have a clue
They were in the pockets
Of BIG Energy they
Came into our town
And blew us away
I fear for our children
In the hands of this mob
Who have stolen their future
Their lives tHey did rob
So many lies were expounded and we
Suffer the terror
Immeasurably
Pollution is everywhere
Many are sick
Cancers are rife
And we are getting stick
So much of what we expected has gone
And we know that we got from them
A fanciful con
Fracking the shale
It has failed us today
Our parks and our countryside
Wasting away
Our farms and amenities
It’s terrible now
At night when I sleep
Inside I ask how
I let myself be conned
I now suffer so
All quality life
Sadly did go
My children are sick
And now so am I
If only I had listened
I ask myself why
I just let the few protest
In the street
The pagans the youngsters
I did retreat
Didn’t believe them
They broke the law
And I do now realise
What it was for
Because we are all bloody well fracked
