Poachers

Sam Simon has this wealth of spirit
Despite his sickened state
He has a heart and such courage
He feels the wild souls fate
Is wrapped up in the human mind
The insensitivity
The lack of understanding
For the mammals in the sea

The great whales have protection
But the ignorance of some
The wastefulness of others
They have their health but numb
To other souls who share this planet
Who have a role to play
Who swim in the vast oceans
But still so many pay

Illegal gill nets thrown away
Cause unbelievable pain
Floating under the surface
Really such a bane
On life on creativity
Discarded without thought
Knowing the great loss of life
He gives them some support

So many are unconscious
Unresponsive they can’t see
They have eyes and they have brains
But somehow they fail to be
Creative and supportive
To the wild life that abounds
Sam Simon on the other hand
In,love this man he drowns

He cares he shares his knowledge
Fate allocates to those
A sickness and a shorter life
Inside some of us grows
Great wisdom and deliverance
In others maybe not
They lost their sensitivity
Or never cared a jot

What Sam Simon does is admirable
His cancer clearly riles
He sees his life now slipping
And he reconciles
His passions to support wild life
When others fail to, he
Is trying hard to save them
And by so doing he will be

Remembered and respected
For the kindness that he shows
It takes courage tO get out there
With film making or prose
It takes a great deal from you
To create rather than not
And so what he is doing
Is clearly such a lot

And others they will follow
They will Be inspired to try
Fighting for the underdogs
Others might ask why
This is what makes our world special
The yin the yang it’s there
It is a great re balancing
That more and more do share
