Stone Henge

There it is

a great stone structure

a monument to who

5000 years 4000 years

who knows which date is true

out there on that chalky plain

the sheep still ruminate

they know a thing or two about it

but don’t argue about the date

Today I passed by slowly

for once the stones seemed small

the sansens some 25 tons

and almost 9 feet tall

brought they say

from Marlborough Downs

some 20 miles away

and the blue stones have a bluish hue

and  all are here to stay

some have said they came by water

clearly they are wrong

they came by flying saucer

well you knew that all along

a pagan wizard it is said

carried the blue stones on his head

and the sarsens dangled from the sky

and were  gently lowered WITCH is why

Stonehenge stares across the plain

and many pagans come to gain

enlightenment and history

philosophy and mystery

in archaic surroundings

they kind of sense how bright

this  emanation from the stars

is a trajectory of light
