Shire of Broome

The infamous Taiji

where few now want to be

killers, maimers

heart inflamers

slaughtering from the sea

dolphins with chaotic pipes

and pithing rods of steel

the world is at their feet

the heat is building

and its real

in August 2009 we hear

suspension of the twin

the shire of broome and Taiji

the port of some true sin

but in October of the same year

the whole thing was reversed

the shire of Broome

capitulated

that has to be a first

this is a town that murders

that kidnaps and that dumps

the pithings  and the torture

they are a bunch of chumps

these dolphins are now laden

with mercury and PCBs

and radiation also

to bring us to our knees

the shire of Broome

is reminded

protesters everywhere

how can you adopt such a sister town

one where  such despair

is evident and growing

do your people know

how savage and how brutal

Taiji is

to bestow

a similar karma on the shire of Broome

it seems to me

the people ought to know about this
