Profit pathways

there was a time when farms and ranchers

were the money spinners

and then came the rich hunters

and the even richer sinners

they had all the equipment

but couldn’t hunt at all

and that got some south africans

wanting to play ball

they could close the farms

and earn some big bucks anyway

stop the graft that just was daft

and really make things pay

minimum set up

with  profit streams

almost at every stage

this became the cash cow

with figures off the page

they had the infrastructure

the buildings and the roads

and vast amounts of land to hand

and fencing they had loads

free ranging wild animals

and  caged wild animals too

petting parlours for the kids

and the big cat zoo

then came adventure holidays

the canned hunt scene was born

the guarantee was obvious

and lots of lovely corn

excitement by the bucket full

for the corporate hounds

who could buy any target

in euros in dollars in pounds

it was an exclusive holiday

a big game hunting treat

with trophies at the end of it

where everything felt  sweet

and, the profit margin was

going through the roof

and the meat could be sold

and the bones could be sold

and there wasn’t any proof

so every one was at it drugging the animals fast

using them for wild rides

and in videos they are cast

big bucks for the farmers

then the hunters come along

the holiday adventure

of a lifetime so what’s wrong

20 grand 30 grand

anything will do

this is like printing money

and there are add on’s too

feeding the local people

and the markets in the far east

lion bones call them tiger bones

and you have got a feast

the fact that they are duping everybody

makes no odds at all

the animals are suffering

but the margins do not fall

its money for old nuts

they say

animals parts ues too ivory and horn and bone

and what did accrue

animal rights they have no rights

not where money is concerned

and that is now what’s happening

as more and more are burned
