We are off to Singapore won’t that be nice

Religious rites or are they wrongs

where sacrifice is used

I know of various festivals

where  animals being abused

might have been acceptable

when consciousness was low

but now we’ve reached a higher state

of consciousness you know

so continually slaughtering ungulates

the gods accept the need

to save them

not  to slaughter them

nobody has to bleed

out to please the higher gods

sacrifice is a cost

life is so important

and  for every life thats lost

it costs the human spirit

and is a tragic  thing

it so affects the families

of the sacrificed who bring

much woe  and lamentation

into the spirit world

the gods thus are unhappy

that so many still are hurled

out into the ether

lost souls everyone

their karmic debts unsettled

their significance undone

there has to be another way

an offering where life

is not lost and there is no cost

and  hopefully  a day

will come soon where

the sacrifice  really is no more

the festival goes on the same

without the blood and gore

Now to relate a story

of what happened recently

2200 sheep were shipped from Perth

which was where they be

loaded up in wooden crates

and stowed inside a plane

2200 to me it sounds insane

Singapore Airlines took the shipment

and sent them on their way

174 arrived dead

with their lives they had to pay

inadequate ventilation

how they suffocated they

choked and screamed and

in utter fear perished in a way

no soul ever imagined

that it would come to this

the agony of failing air

and heat is so remiss

these are sentient creatures

their feelings are intense

a vivacity a liveliness

spirited with such sense

and left in crates to perish

to cook in fact in there

and no one hear their bleatings

nobody aware

no one came to even check

highly strung and mobile

but equivalent to a  speck

on man un kinds emotion

no thought was cast their way

and so they died in agony

they were the ones to pay

over 2000 witnessed this

they also suffered long

maybe a little stronger

but knowing all was wrong

put out by their comrades

dying on the ground

many of their relatives

in their own juice they drowned

their emotions all a tangle

their shared pain cast adrift

so we start to quote statistics

somehow that does lift

some blame out of the cauldron

but the ungulates they know

they realize the agony

and how it began to grow

endurance was a factor

torment was one too

a dark ordeal was manifest

mortification grew

as each fell on the floor and died

the uneasiness was there

the tales of woe was shared by all

as was complete despair

at Singapore the doors were opened

and everyone could see

all those wasted little lives

lost to eternity

other sheep would replace them

from Ireland I’ve heard tell

and all the rest were on their way

to a place far worse than hell

all for ritual slaughter

head chopped or throat sliced

each had  all their own memories

but they all were enticed

into the crates of doom and gloom

and out across the skies

to hot and sticky Singapore

where they could realize

their end was coming closer

religious rites were where

they would be the sacrifice

their blood they’d have to share

all the congregation would partake

and would embrace

their flesh and blood their gonads

all to be eaten with good grace

live exports from Australia

in the space of some 5 years

1732 flights

and millions of bloody tears

1.2 million live sheep each one

caring souls

shipped by air to anywhere

under strict controls

of that great big number

340 have died

asphyxiated painfully

and each one hurt inside

felt the dreadful fury of the air

run out until

their eyes became so swollen

and blood began to spill

this was a death of terror

and each one that  was dealt

this end this awful torture

everyone who felt

that they had been let down

by man un kind

and they just fell

into darkness

sobbing

those seeing it

did tell

how they felt downtrodden

weeping in their hearts

the hopelessness apparent

just like little darts

piercing through their precious flesh

prolonging their ordeal

condemned by the human swill

that was for them so real

the gods were never happy

this ineffective flight

this lack of ventilation

of course it wasn’t right

the tumultuous decision

to slaughter all of those

who made it into Singapore

beyond all seen there grows

a greater sensitivity

a delectation for

empathy and compassion

never blood and gore

the savage heart can’t take it

it threatens to overwhelm

what could have been paradisical

saw  the reaper at the helm

the malevolence the unpleasing

the afflicted and the sad

the invidious the offensive

the odious and the bad

and every single one of them

was slaughtered as I said

every single one of them

is well and truly dead

the humans came to  worship

a very special cause

the animals lost everything

my thought is that we pause

we let the spirit waft into the

magnitude of space

we settle back to contemplate

where the human race

has come to,  the evolution

and the soul

journey to absolution

is within his own control
