Malevolence

Can’t fathers and elders imagine
What is the negative here
And why be so superficial
A sort of perfunctory fear

How could it be beneficial
To impress on a child quite so
Young
That killing is right
That such action is bright
And it’s good to be in and among

People who kill for a living
Hunters and poachers who feel
The need to go out in the forest
And slaughter the life forms for real

Give a small child a big rifle
To aim at the dead beast to see
How it feels to pretend you have killed it
Some impetus that just might be

Where is the mother in all of this
Why would she let some bloke do
This to her sweet little baby
Who clearly should not have a view

Besides this canned hunting is just facade
It’s vouched in a falsity
Marking whose card
Depends on the bountY the price that you pay
As to who dies and who lives
To see a new day

It’s vile and irreconcilable for
There is no way back
It’s murder for sure
It’s an ignorant act
From an arrogant man
Sowing seeds in a child’s head
If that was the plan

A discordant idea
An ingratiation
Lots of regrets
And never salvation
Feeling the strength of the elder
Maybe
As the warrior lies
Motionless tragically

Great teeth and a head
Of a massive size
Big heavy feet
Close up realise
This noble beast
With its fine flowing mane
Will never roar in the
Jungle again
And that’s down to his father
Who he now looks up to
So where is his mother
Why can she do
A job on her now
Explaining the woe
That the cats will go through
Helping him show
This was not a good result
And we should try
and photograph yes
But not make them die
A beautiful beast needs protection
For we
Have not got the right
And should never be
Assassins with rifles
To shoot and to kill
There’s never a reason
For their blood to spill

Instead it s the father
And indoctrination
Showing the boy
Where in lies his salvation

Injecting a poison deep into his soul
And helping to raise him
To feel the control

I am amazed at the terrible thought
How this young child really has been bought
Another vile seed implanted to say
Kill or be killed it’s the only way
