Marsworth an afternoon out

A wide expanse of water

 a stillness to behold

a tranquility of spirit

in all of this we were rolled

and emissary was welcomed

by  the sunlight and the calm

to evoke those golden ringlets

and keep us all from harm

Swans and Ducks and Moorhens

shared the slate grey face

preening ever preening

and enjoying the chase

we climbed down to the water

immersing our feet there

and looking up at the gentle sky

and clouds that passed to share

a constance and a beauty

and all of this nearby

the essence of forever

but never asking why

the Blacksmith with his

artifacts displayed for all to see

the table and the mirrors and the

lights all there they be

valiantly created

at the water line

walking on we found the car

where the sun did shine

those Swans were handsome fellows

white with a black eye

swimming so serenely

where golden rings do ply

out from the wake and circle

gyrating in a race

to wash in those gorgeous circles

and be lost without a trace

3 starlets sat together

with Nature at their feet

with the vista of the angels

creating their bold treat
