“Arturo”

Its been an imposition

and adversity has shown

perilously damaging

and he’s suffered it alone

concrete every which way

just a 20 inch deep pool

and a climate that is seriously hot

tell me what   sad fool

shipped a bear from the North Pole

and imagined that he could feel

at home in temperatures reaching

100 or even  more, for real

a shaggy baggy Polar Bear

wants ice cold water where

he swims where he immerses himself

where he can share

the limitless icy waste lands

instead what he’s got here

is a 20 ” pool of warm water

and and ever encroaching fear

of being over heated

all that insecurity

clearly he is vulnerable

as any child could see

Mendoza Zoo has got it wrong

as most Zoo’s do these days

commercial undertakings

are like a sad malaise

heat is such a peril

to animals who cannot

bear the heat and want  the cold

it really is just rot

to imagine that such animals

could withstand years of this strain

it must have just been torture

his life seemed all in vain

he lost his girl friend Pelusa

and after that,just went down hill

clearly he loved her and needed her

when she died, he still

mooned over her and wanted her

but alas of course she was dead

and he never really got over her

and clearly this has led

to him falling under the depression spell

feeling downright sad

who wants to live in a oven

its enough to drive one mad

the warning signs are everywhere

throwing caution to the sky

is rejecting what he needs in life

and he’s hoping he will die

He’s 29 years old in fact

its purdah to the extreme

and the zoo has not looked after him

a pretty lousy team

disingenuousness an evasion

of responsibility

keeping him in a concrete place

where he just shouldn’t be

it really is hypocrisy

concealing him inside

what is an artificial place

although he cannot hide

a curse in fact a malady

an affliction we can say

tedium beyond the pale

that does not go away

a precarious existence

so much uncertainty

clearly he is vulnerable

locked up in  his destiny

lost in the accounting

the economics too

the corporate fucking image

of the great Mendoza Zoo

despondency its written all over his poor face

a hopeless situation for any bear to grace

disconsolate and comfortless

he’s been driven to despair

claustrophobia it gets to him

I mean just being there

he really has no stomach for

existing as he does

a sourness in his very gut

intolerable the buzz

the acidity within him

causes him great pain

his spirit has been broken

again and again  and again

A twitter storm is raging

after 9 tonight

the Mendoza Zoo will feel the wrath

will anyone invite

Arturo who is sweating up

and feeling full of woe

will be laying somewhere

in the heat

like some frustrated joe

who under values everything

who disrespects them all

the directors of the Mendoza Zoo

who do not care to call

why should he be astonished

they have the affront to be

only into money
