The finality of outstanding

conservation

one women leaves

another women comes

can you feel the heart break

can you hear it

its all there in the beating of those drums

Zimbabwe’s Presidential herds are

witnessing

the rumblings of hunters

and we may

see the influx of the trophy people

who want to come and blow

wild life away

The elephants are cringing

they must realize

their saviour has been forced out

and that they

are now the targets

for the rabid hunters

Gwango is the new name

so they say

a conservancy already

shows its muscles

intimidating locals

thereabouts

the henchmen clearly

frightening the people

and setting up

the planning for these routs

The elephants must really

be beside themselves

knowing that the end is near and they

will all be sitting targets

for the hunters

for that is what they do

when they can pay

sustainable it never is

sustainable

its a quick buck

and that’s about it all

Zimbabwe really  is a poaching hot spot

half the world knows that

so for a short while

they will have a ball

killing selling ivory

and hoping

the world just closes one eye

and forgets

this is what the world does

it soon becomes stale news

and the wild life

yea of course

they pay the debts
