The Island

Going back to the wilds he was

and going back today

on the truck bouncing along

going all the way

to the island

where a number have been released

we hear

Jane Goodall whispered to him

in his cage and he did hear

with her hand she touched his fingers

a kind of sweet embrace

anticipatory nervousness

a presumption, of grace

releasing the gate he was

peering

from it and was out

the forest swung in all around

the prophecy about

#

it clearly was significant

implicit in his way

he grabbed hold of her

cuddling her

clearly he did say

although he had never cuddled her before

that now was right

he felt her

and he knew her

and  loved her with  all his might

she like another friend of his

cuddled him back, his awe

clearly very natural

and of course very sure

like old friends waving goodbye

he released himself and  he

walked into the forest

and was gone

immediately

his break with human kind

had been short but clearly there

he was now a wild boy

the wildness couldn’t share

the candour of his emotion

displayed for all to see

the wild boy and the women

Doctor Goodall actually

clearly his afformation

was a teaching in disguise

he showed his generosity

for of course the boy was wise

very unambiguous

clear cut we might say

that was then and this is now

the start of a new day
