Midway Atoll

Midway Atoll

all we hear

are cries of sea birds

in  dire fear

the Albatross

they pass away

filled with jetsum

from the bay

vomit of human unkind

deaf and dumb and clearly blind

reality had passed him by

the birds now kick and slowly die

their guts filled up with this and that

bits of plastic where we are at

is somewhere close to

god knows where

the land where our plastic shit we share

its evil washes  far and wide

it rolls in on every tide

as seabirds take a shine to it

thats right they die eating our shit

are we ashamed

blamed are we

for what is there catastrophe

skeletons litter the drying sand

we look down and can’t understand

how death and pain and terror came

and we just wouldnt take the blame
