A downer mother with her calf beside her( waiting for the inevitable outcome of milk production)

Why did they let my mother die?

a question all might ask

how did she get to this poor stage

so young taken to task

a cow can live for 20 years

and she is barely 4

but is lame and spent

and broken

she has been through the war

the dairy was the front line

the farmer the enemy

he stole whatever she possessed

and left her just to be

what he calls a downer

a soul that cannot be

too tortured and too broken hearted

laid out in front of me

I am her calf, her baby

she is my loving mum

she was in such agony

you think that we are dumb

we have great expression

we understand the ways

its you lot

you insensitive sods

deep in your malaise

money its just money

profit that is all

margins common purpose

your backs are at the wall

and you take it out on all of us

especially by mama

you left her in the stable yard

to die

you were so far

removed from us

from carers

from those who know the way

instead you became devils

in the miserable pay

of the corporates

who control you

who blackmail you

and you do

exactly what they tell you

you become a devil too

I never ever drank my mothers milk

which she made for me

creation made it possible

but you lot you did see

that it all went into your kids

cows milk into them

all those antibiotics

all that shit

it all did stem

from greed from making margins

from profit

that was it

you bastards let my mother die

you killed her

just to fit

into the present paradigm

the corporate world of waste

a wasted life

hellish strife

and it must be faced

we are off to the abbatoir

our throats will soon be slashed

and you lot drinking stolen milk

your bodies are being trashed

and its by your own rich farmers

by the corporate creed

they are devils incarnate

and its on you all they feed
