Esso Valdez 25 years on

its 25 years since that disaster

tore a forceful hole

in that environment alas

almost every soul

who lived and loved around that

place was broken oiled and lost

it was a terrible disaster

and my goddess has it cost

the oil leaked out in volumes

and everywhere was black

oozing from the broken pipes

around the rocks did pack

huge amounts of filth

deposited all about the shore

myriad birdlife shell fish, fishes

ended  up as no more

25 years on so many souls

have not been able to

come back from the disaster

they were broke into

polluted out the water

all that rotten crude

the losers are the wild souls

not the financial brood

not the insurance companies

not the bankers they

all just make a killing

whilst all the others pay
