Big game and the canned hunting fraternity

Look at this picture

what do you see

a lionees being dragged backwards

aggressively

look at her trying to use her great claws

to scythe through the sand

she wants to be free

she now has no hope

for soon she will be

shot by some coward

for the photo’s that be

on the precious walls

of the hunters who pay

the piper to pipe

and the lion well to pay

this is canned hunting

a dubious play

on words I can tell you

a shameful display

a dire derogation

a squalid refrain

just humiliation

again and again

the King of the jungle

reduced to a fool

it insults the breed

and it does appal

any, thinking soul

with a heart  in their chest

for the wickedness shown

immoral at best

it has to be stopped

these farms they pretend

to be helping the Lions

the message they send

corporate  self absorbed

pimps in a way

who sacrifice animals

now everyday

breed them to kill them

kill them to see

the hunters who spend

lots of dosh

happily

leave with their ego in tact

and on fire

with a piece of the vanquished

which was their desire
