BHT in Rice Crispies and chewing gums

A derivative of phenol

an antioxidant that

is used a lot in fuel oil

that is where its at

as a prevention of free radicals

that appears its use

but it now is used in Europe

and America

the ruse

that it acts

as a additive

especially with rice

in processed enriched

cereals

which to me just isn’t nice

its no fun anymore

to be a child it seems to me

processors are risking lots

and parents do not see

you have to be a chemist

these days to appreciate this stuff

and surely little children

their lives are truly tough

for profit and for shelf life

their health is compromised

and nobody cares tuppence

its not even realised

it comes back to the advertising

snap crackle and pop

every conceivable lie is told

when is it going to stop

it must be said that BHA

is supplement of sorts

combined with lysine sometimes

for herpes  so it sports

lots of applications

from fuel oil and rubber we

are lumbered it seem with these additives

but its  banned  organically

and that now is a problem

for the price of organic does

rise above conventional

and the children get the buzz

its slapped across the telly

the superstores all sell

the ones laced with this additive

the one they all know well
