Taeng Mo was just a baby Eli

She was just a little baby
a lovable sweet soul
she somehow slipped through all the nets
apparently no control
captured from the wild she was
and holed up in some place
some tiny little village
there but for whose grace
clearly she was neglected there
why is people feel
they either have to hunt trap
and conceal
why can’t we leave the earthlings
alone to life their life
being around humans
is sure to bring them strife
the baby was then taken
from this village and was placed
into some Elephant Hospital
again then she braced
herself for more neglect
much more abuse
and now more pain
really she’s another victim
with ulcers the place did drain
her of whatever energy she had
it seems to me
and now she is very very ill
poor Taeng Mo and must be
killed, put out of her misery
the misery of man
the misery of our neglect
it seems it just began
and hasn’t stopped all her short
life
its the interference we
man un kind are so good at
we must learn to leave them
to be free
our selfishness is beyond doubt
whether game parks r whether zoo’s
private profitability
gives all wild souls the blues
