Myanmar what do its forests hold

Such wonderment clearly apparent
unexplored for 50 years
the rest of Asia’s been gutted
corporate thugs have no tears
corporate gangsters created
sparse sterile clearings
where they
saw rich fertile forests
packed with every miracle
that has now been carted away

the undemocratic persuasion
has protected the wilderness and
more than half of the remaining
forests
is beautiful sweet natural land
forgotten wildlife supremely
still walks its rich hallowed ground
and endangered animals secretly
hopeful they would not be found

The Sun Bear hunted all over the place
The Fire Tiger or Asian Gold Cat
the clouded Leopard
these are so a rare
and all have been found
where they are at
they are so illusive
and yet they are there
living in harmony, they
able to live and thrive in a place
where human stay out of the way

a rich web of life
is just teeming
with vast numbers
who live side by side
able to remain independent
diverse and never denied
where man is active
we find them, the markets
with wild parts around
the humans are a wicked being
all sorts of dead bodies abound

Clearly this is some adventure
as hunters leave fires at their break
and fire in the forests is terribly dangerous
it swallows so much in its wake
so many animals will be consumed
so many insects will die
all of their preciousness lost
in the moment
man leaves the reason to cry

Science is there with its people
studying, and counting today
they have to put forward a reason for keeping
the forests alive for we pay
a very high price for destruction
in animals, lives and the trees
the insects, the herbals, there is so much
going on
so take a moment and be
